Jon Kabat-Zinn
Perhaps no other person has done more to bring mindfulness meditation into the contemporary landscape of America than Jon Kabat-Zinn. Through a number of research studies, and through his pioneering work at the UMass Medical School where he is founder of its world-renowned Stress Reduction Clinic.
Thich Nhat Hanh
A Zen master in the Vietnamese tradition, scholar, poet, and peace activist who was nominated for the 1967 Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King Jr. He is the founder of the Van Hanh Buddhist University in Saigon and has taught at Columbia University and the Sorbonne.
Pema Chodron
Ani Pema Chödrön is a fully ordained bikshuni in the Chinese lineage of Buddhism. Born in New York City, she first studied with Lama Chime Rinpoche for several years and then with her root guru, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche from 1974 until his death in 1987. She served as the director of Karma Dzong until she moved in 1984 to Nova Scotia to be the director of Gampo Abbey.
